Gung Ho Online Entertainment has released a great looking new space dogfight game called SILPHEED alternative onto the Android Market today. This is a new installment into the SILPHEED series of games although this is the first to land on Android.

You may remember back in the PS2 days the name SILPHEED. That is because Gung Ho Online Entertainment released the first SILPHEED game for the PS2 back in 2001 called SILPHEED: The Lost Planet. As expected with this type of game, you will be getting some very nice eye candy along with the rather fast-paced inter-planetary combat gameplay. It isn't all about shooting the enemy though, there is some strategy involved even for this fast of a game.

Features:

  • Great graphics
  • Solid soundtrack
  • Fast-paced dogfighting combat
  • Ship customization with weapons and shields

While the gameplay is fast and furious, you will have to tend to your ship between combat rounds using various options for customizing your ship. This will, hopefully, lead to you surviving the next round of combat. If you are a space fighter game lover than you'll want to give this title a whirl. It comes in two flavors: Free lite version to try out and a full version for $3.24.

Tips from the market: This game comes with Parallax 3D which is also found on the Nintendo 3DS. Also control-wise, you will probably want to invert the onscreen D-Pad in the settings for better control.
