Preview of upcoming Gameloft title The Adventures of TinTin

Gameloft has another title in the works for Android devices which is a movie tie-in to the upcoming film The Adventures of TinTin. The game, sporting the same name as the movie, is about TinTin and his dog Snowy and will be an adventure puzzle game with some pretty slick looking graphics.

In The Adventures of TinTin, you'll be controlling TinTin with the usual virtual joystick setup but, at times, you will need to control his dog Snowy instead. This is especially true in areas where TinTin himself can't fit into which means there will be some interesting gameplay potential in this title. If the use of the dog is important, especially getting into small areas, you could end up missing a lot of content or get stuck in the game should you miss an area where you need to use the dog to find an object you need.

This sort of potential for some seriously challenging gameplay is definitely a good thing. Most Gameloft titles can be completed fairly easily, which isn't a bad thing, but when you want a real challenge and some unique gameplay, most of their titles stick to whatever genre they are in and the format those genres provide for gameplay mechanic.

The graphics are pretty slick looking and while this game is being developed for mobile by Gameloft, Ubisoft is making a similar version of the game for consoles. This could mean some asset sharing between the two companies with how good the visuals look from the in-game screenshots.

The actually movie is due out soon, October in the UK, so not long after here state-side. With that said, The Adventures of TinTin should be out around the same time as the movie for Android devices. It's good to see something unique coming from Gameloft.
