Yesterday we reported on NaturalMotion Games gearing up to release NFL Rivals onto Android today. Well today has arrived and so has NFL Rivals onto the Android Market. NaturalMotion Games acquired a license from the NFL so now you can play as your favorite team but that certainly isn't the best part.

The best part is how the leader boards will work. Featuring similar gameplay to their Backbreaker series of games, in NFL Rivals you will be trying to make touchdowns while dodging opponents who are trying to tackle you. You can also flip the roles around and be the one trying to dismantle players as they try to make touchdowns as well. Regardless of the role you play, you will earn points. These points will be added to the team's total points your playing as. Each team is located on the leader board which basically brings the friendly rivalries in Football into the game since everyone wants to see their team in first place.

There are also another feature that is pretty interesting called Game Day which allows you to play during the day your team is actually playing in real life. When you play during the day your team is actually playing, you will earn bonus points which are also applied to the team total. This hypes up the rivalries a bit more and overall should make this a pretty entertaining game for Football fans.

You can pick NFL Rivals up off the Android Market right now for $2.99 and get working on getting your team into the number one spot, even if they can't make it there in real life.

Thanks to Roger Lyons for the heads up!
