While we, unfortunately, can't be in Tokyo for the Tokyo Game Show this year, being a Final Fantasy fan I personally damn near had a nerdgasm reading that Square Enix has announced it would be coming to Android in 2012 in the form of Final Fantasy: Legends.
There isn't a whole lot of detail right now about this java game being brought over to Android but if it follows the java game for the most part when it is ported over then you can expect a new storyline set back in the 16-bit time of gaming. No massive skill trees to worry about, combos and other new features that come in all the new Final Fantasy games, just good old fashioned gaming at it's finest.
When it was released for java in Japan last year, it came in the form of chapters with each new chapter being released at different times. Square Enix could do the same with the Android release as well. Unfortunately, as this is from the Tokyo Game Show this could end up being exclusive to the Japanese mobile market for Android and iOS. As soon as we can confirm it will hit US shores we will post an update.
