Two days ago we announced that Rockstar would be bringing Grand Theft Auto 3 to select Android (and iOS) devices this Fall and the devices listed were all dual-core ones. However, Rockstar got in touch with Kotaku yesterday to let them know it would eventually make it to older iOS devices as well.
This news also brings hope to owners of newer single-core Android devices as well considering if Rockstar Games can bring it to older iOS devices, it can certainly bring it to single-core Android devices as well. Now there is even more hints at Rockstar Games bringing GTA3 to single-core Android devices thanks to a slide during a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play presentation that happen to show the GTA3 logo in the slide.

Whether this means there will be a version for the Xperia Play only, whether fully exclusive of the usual temporary exclusivity they tend to do, remains to be seen but it does bring hope to owners of single-core Android devices that they will be able to enjoy GTA3 as well. This will be in the future though after the initial release. The initial release will only support the devices listed in our original article. No word if the same will happen with Max Payne when it lands on Android.
Update 8:56am Oct. 15, 2011: Rumors are going around that the initial release of GTA3 for the first round of Android supported devices is being said to happen on Nov. 22, 2011. We will keep you posted as more information comes to light.
