Gameloft has been announcing on their Twitter accounts, all of them, that their third installment into the Modern Combat series of games, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation will be released onto iOS devices Oct. 27th with the Android version to come 'in the following weeks'.

This third installment into the series has been highly anticipated by FPS gamers on both iOS and Android. As usual though we, on the Android side of things, have to wait a little longer than the iOS players. This is just generally due to the fact we have a ton more devices to test the game on than iOS does. With that said, hopefully this won't turn into another 9mm 'few weeks' incident where 9mm was supported to be released onto Android shortly after iOS but ended up being a few months.

Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation features much more expanded gameplay than it's previous counterparts which will feature a more "open world" type of combat that is more commonly found in console FPS games making for much more intense gameplay. Multiplayer has also been expanded as well which will allow up to 12 people to battle it out in different multiplayer gameplay modes than the previous versions which allowed for only 8 people per map.

The controls have also been revamped and are customizable, letting you move them around to where you are the most comfortable with them being so you can make better use of your FPS 'twitch' gaming skills.

If you are curious about what engine this was made with, it is neither Unity3D nor Unreal Engine and you can find out more about that in our previous article where we asked Gameloft what they used to make Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation since the graphics are impressive and better than the first two in the series.

While the iOS version is set for an Oct. 27th release, Gameloft has said the Android version will come in the following weeks (if your device is supported). We like to take a stab in the dark and say it'll land in the second week of November. Anyone else want to take a guess?
