Well if you thought the path to world domination for Angry Birds had already been completed with a movie in the works, cook books and a plethora of other merchandise soon to be available featuring your favorite agitated birds, think again. Rovio is planning to start opening up official Angry Birds stores as well.

China will be the first country on the list to get official Angry Birds stores and this is to combat the apparent problem of unlicensed merchandise that seems to be running around over there. According to Rovio, there is a lot of it.

"There's a lot of Angry Birds products in China and most of them are not officially licensed. We want to sell officially licensed and good quality products, but at the same time we have to be happy that the brand is so loved. That's why we're building our first store here in China. Hopefully we'll have quite a few in the next 12 months." - CMO Peter Vesterbacka

So how big is the market for Angry Birds merchandise for Rovio in China? According to them it will generate around $100 million in revenue by the end of 2011. While Rovio is planning on starting out in China when it comes to official Angry Birds stores, don't be surprised when our next article about this announces stores for other countries.
