Back in September we reported on a new 3D MMORPG that had landed on Android called Elemental Knights Online. This was more or less in a beta stage of development at the time and has recently received a rather large update that basically brings this game out of beta status for the most part.

While games of an MMO nature are always a work in progress, this recent update brought a lot of changes to the game itself. Currently the version and changelog on the Android Market shows it's version number being 1.1.2 which was just a quick update to fix a couple of bugs. The big update was right before that on Oct. 25th, 2011 (version 1.1.1). This update brought almost all the dialog and other text in-game over to English. If you have been playing since we mentioned the game back in September, you already can see those changes.

Another big improvement to the game is support for landscape mode. Previously it was only payable in portrait mode but now you can flip your device and enjoy it in landscape mode as well. Speaking on devices, more devices have received support as well for Elemental Knights although a few devices are still being worked on like the EVO and XOOM. You can check to see if your device is able to play the game currently thanks to a list the developers have put up.

The Forge Durability system has been phased out as well due to popular demand so players don't have to worry about that anymore as well. Overall there have been even more improvements and content added to the game as well although these are the major ones. Also one thing to note, the game is not a monthly-based subscription anymore and although it is labeled as a Free-to-Play MMORPG, it will cost you $6.99 to buy and download the game so it really isn't Free-to-Play but that's better than a monthly subscription for most people.

For more information about the game, check out our previous article about it or the market description (it's rather detailed). You can also check out the trailer below to see the game in action.
