MachineWorks Northwest has told our friends over at PocketGamer that they are working on currently making Duke Nukem 3D optimized for the Xperia Play which should make anyone who owns that device and the game pretty happy. However, there is even more good news for all people playing this game.

This other good news is in regards to the ads that were in-game which many people were rather pissed about since the game itself, and the additional episodes, all cost money. At release you paid $0.99 for Duke Nukem 3D and got the first episode with the second and third episodes available through in-game purchases. On top of that though there were ads in-game as well which angered a lot of people. We figured they would remove the ads in less than a week with all the people complaining about them.

Guess what? Sure enough the game has been updated and the ads have been removed which should make a lot of people happy. This also means that anyone holding out on buying Duke Nukem 3D because of the ads can go ahead and get it now and enjoy the game ad-free. No word just yet on when the Xperia Play optimization will land on the Android Market but it's a fairly easy thing to do so it shouldn't be long.
