Gameloft releases Assassin's Creed: Revelations onto Android

Gameloft has quietly released another title onto the Android Market called Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Similar to the recent release of Driver San Francisco, Assassin's Creed: Revelations was simply just put onto the Android Market last week without any real word of it's coming. Already that should make you wonder what's wrong with it.

When you hear a title like Assassin's Creed getting a sequel dropped onto the Android Market, at first you get excited. The excitement ends rather quickly though when you get to the market page for the game and take a look at the price, screenshots and description of the game. That's when you realized it's just a direct port of the Java version of the game, similar to what they did with Driver San Francisco. Unfortunately for Gameloft, in this day and age, direct Java ports don't really cut it.

However, if you are a die hard fan of Assassin's Creed games, you may want to pick it up anyways as it's only $2.99 on the Android Market and it's not a bad port, it's that one would expect a Triple-A title like the Assassin's Creed franchise would have revised graphics or something a bit better then just directly porting it over from the Java version. If you're a fan of the Assassin's Creed games though, $2.99 isn't a bad deal for a decent game, even if it is a direct port from the Java version.
