Well this is some gaming news on a different level. PerBlue, the developers of the location-based MMORPG for mobile called Parallel Kingdom, is allowing players to buy two special hats using food from in-game which will then be used to buy actual meals for those families in need this Thanksgiving.

When you buy one of the to hats using in-game food, PerBlue will turn that into donations to HELP USA which helps kids and families who need help to have a Thanksgiving meal this year. The Food Hats, which are happens to be an item your character can use in game, can be purchased with in-game food. PerBlue will take that purchase and convert it into a donation for HELP USA.

There are two limited edition hats you will be able to buy: a red Food Basket Hat which can be purchased for 750 food and a golden Food Basket Hat which is available for 6,000 food. Buying a red hat will provide a meal on Thanksgiving for one homeless child while the golden hat will supply a meal for an entire family. It's a brilliant idea and if you happen to be one of the 800,000 players in Parallel Kingdom, this is definitely something to consider doing between now and Thanksgiving.
