Today Daniel Kaplan posted on the Mojang blog about what is coming up in the near future for Android and iOS version of Minecraft. While we have had it on Android for awhile, iOS only recently got the game and the plan is to get the iOS version on par with the Android one to make development easier. There is one small bug fix the iOS version needs before that is happening.
After that bug fix goes out onto the iOS version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition, both platforms will be on par and it will be easier for Mojang to work on Minecraft: Pocket Edition when everything is on the same level. With that said, Daniel Kaplan went into detail as to what's next for Minecraft: Pocket Edition. One this he did say is that it would be impossible to bring every single feature the PC version has over to mobile as the touchscreen interface just wouldn't support some types of game play features.
This is what the plan looks like right now and being worked on:
So a lot of the Survival features are slated for release in an upcoming update or two according to the plan right now. This falls in line with what we've reported on in the past with where Minecraft: Pocket Edition would be heading. No exact time was given as to when these updates would roll out but hopefully they are sooner than later.
