Glu Mobile has an upcoming third-person shooter called Frontline Commando that will be heading to Android and iOS devices very soon. This was one of the titles they had mentioned in their announcements of games that will be arriving before year's end.

Frontline Commando is your typical war-based third-person shooter where you will be running around shooting people in the face with various weapons. Graphically the game looks pretty solid as does the gameplay which we get to see more of in the new trailer Glu Mobile released.

Frontline Commando Features:

  • SEE AND FEEL THE ACTION - The ultimate 3rd person shooter with stunning console quality visuals, precise controls, advanced physics and destructibles. Jump in the heat of battle and push your iOS device to the limit!
  • COMPLETE DEADLY MISSIONS - Emerge from destructible cover points to take down helicopters, jeeps and heavily defended enemy bases. Fight off increasingly difficult waves of enemies over a variety of combat mission types.
  • COMMAND AN ARSENAL OF DEADLY WEAPONS - Take to the frontline with an artillery of assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers, med kits, armor and more!

In the trailer above we get to see some of the gameplay that will be coming with Frontline Commando. While normally we would be excited for another third-person shooter to be coming to Android that has similar gameplay to Shadowgun, Glu has been making all their games 'freemium' as of late, and not the good kind either where you are almost forced to buy into the game if you want to get past a certain point. Hopefully this one doesn't end up that way but there is that chance since it's 'free-to-play'.

As of right now we do not have an exact release date for Frontline Commando. All we do know is that it will be out before the end of the year according to Glu. With that said, it could be any day between now and the end of the year.
