A little bit of bad news today for anyone waiting to get their hands on Sonic CD for Android without having to go but a tablet from GameStop. Unfortunately Sega has confirmed that it will be delayed until early 2012 for Android devices even though the iOS version is set to be released tomorrow.
There has been no reason given for the delay as of yet but we suspect it has something to do with the fact that the Xperia Play is now suddenly being supported by Sonic CD when it is released. Granted this doesn't mean they have to delay the game for everyone and can just release an update that brings Xperia Play support with it. The reason we suspect this as the cause for the delay is due to the fact that the game is already available on tablets you buy from GameStop.
Obviously the game is complete and working if it is available as an early exclusive on those GameStop tablets. Considering that fact, it only seems like yesterdays Xperia Play support announcement could be the only reason for the delay, albeit a silly reason to delay it.
