PopCap to release Plants vs Zombies and Peggle onto the Android Market later this week

PopCap has just announced that they will finally be releasing both Plants vs Zombies and Peggle on the Android Market later this week. This comes finally after a very long exclusive period on the Amazon App Store where both games were originally released.

In a blog post on the official PopCap Games blog, they have announced that while the games aren't 100% ready yet, they will be any day now and that both will appear on the Android Market later this week. This is great news for everyone who has wanted to play either (or both) of these games but happen to live outside of the USA. Currently the Amazon App Store has been limited to only resident of the USA (and people who spoof their location/carrier) which really limits access to people outside of the USA to exclusive games like this.

Both games will be priced at $2.99 if they stick to the pricing they have on the Amazon App Store when they are released onto the Android Market. On a side note, Plants vs Zombies is not tablet optimized but it does run well on large screens anyways. Both games will run on any Android device running Android 1.5 and above.
