One of the most anticipated games this year has finally landed on the Android Market in all it's bloody, crime riddled console glory. Grand Theft Auto III is now available for purchase and download off the market and it is just amazing looking. Here's all the details you need to know.

If you've ever played the console version then you are already set to go and get playing. For those of you who haven't, you start off by being broken out of jail during a jail transport truck break-out and end up getting some work with the local mafia/gang. You'll be running around doing various missions from beating people with baseball bats to stealing cars and everything in between. It's full on story mode, complete with all the cut-scenes between missions. Of course if you want to take a break you can always go running around causing havoc in general.

Grand Theft Auto III Features:

· Visually stunning updated graphics, character and vehicle models
· HD quality resolution
· Gameplay optimized for touch screen devices
· Custom controls for the mobile platform
· Countless hours of gameplay
· Gamepad Support for select USB controllers

Grand Theft Auto III comes with custom on-screen controls which switch depending on if you are on foot or driving a car. You will have a different set of controls for each which is handy. For those of you who have a game controller, this game supports the use of those as well so you can plug right in and get playing. Once you download the game off the Android Market, there will be a secondary download of 427MB to get. You can grab Grand Theft Auto III off the Android Market for $4.99 and it is well worth the price.

Expect a full review coming shortly since we have already been playing this for about a week. Rockstar Games has said it will be coming to the Galaxy Nexus as well, in case you are planning on buying one. Make sure you have a supported device before buying it. The full list of supported devices is available below. It's also available for the Xperia Play as well which is a surprise announcement.

Currently supported devices for GTA III:

Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive

Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x

Update Dec. 15th, 2011 7:25am: We are getting reports that Grand Theft Auto III works fine on the Samsung Galaxy S2 without having to use Chainfire3D when using the apk. Obviously we do not condone piracy so be sure to buy the game to support the devs.
