This morning we have a bit of a surprise on the Android Market thanks to EA and their sci-fi horror shooter Dead Space which is now available on selected Android devices today. Previously this title has remained as an Xperia Play exclusive for quite some time but now it has dropped the exclusivity.

EA has done an excellent job on this FPS (first-person shooter) game and bringing it to mobile albeit only to a select range of devices and it seems that, for the most part, tablets are not supported. If you have a supported devices though you are in for a great time with Dead Space and battling it out with the Necromorph horde.

Dead Space Features:

- A CHARGED SENSORY EXPERIENCE: Survive one of the most gripping, bone-chilling experiences on mobile. Cutting-edge visuals – rich in effects and atmospheric lighting – reproduce the cinematic horror of the console game. Featuring a fully voice-acted stereo soundtrack, plus a movie-quality score and sound effects, find yourself fully immersed in the dread of Dead Space.
- SHOCKINGLY EASY TO CONTROL: Intuitive controls focus you on the action. The on-screen HUD is seamlessly integrated into the game. Navigate 6 varied environments and battle Necromorphs with simple swipe and tap controls.
- FEATURING 2 EXCLUSIVE WEAPONS & CLASSIC MODULES: Access the new Plasma Saw and Core Extractor, plus 3 more weapons from the Dead Space universe. Also utilize Kinesis and Stasis Modules well-known to players of the console game – and get on with the business of strategic dismemberment.

One interesting thing about this game release is that EA has included some exclusive weaponry, the Plasma Saw and Core Extractor along with a few others from the Dead Space games. They have also brought some other console features into the game as well including some of the modules. If you've been waiting to play this on your Android device, hopefully you have a supported one and can drop the $6.99 it will cost you t onab a copy.

Thanks to ShadowOfAnAndroid for the heads up!
