OnLive update brings official full support for the Xperia Play controls

OnLive has been updated to fully support the Xperia Play and the phones built-in game controller which should make a lot of Xperia Play owners happy. Until now there was only a patched version floating around from XDA which would allow owners to fully use the controls the phone comes with.

It was a pretty major oversight that OnLive has finally corrected. Until now there was only partial support for the Xperia Play and usually it defaulted to the touchscreen controls most of the time anyways so users couldn't use the game pad that the Xperia Play comes with. When they could use it, owners of an Xperia Play could only use half of the game pad to any degree.

Now with the update which landed on the market today, the OnLive app now fully supports the Xperia Play game pad, buttons and all. This is going to make playing OnLive games much more fun for Xperia Play owners. One little thing to note, the update isn't working for rooted Xperia Play devices. Whether this is intentional, which we doubt very much it is, or just a bug remains to be seen. If you haven't checked out the OnLive app you should do so, it's pretty nice.
