Big news today regarding the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise from Sega. Hot off the release of Sonic CD for Android, Sega has teamed up with nVidia to bring yet another Sonic the Hedgehog game to Android, this time though for Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 devices called Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 2.
This new addition to the Sonic series of games continues the journey of Sonic the Hedgehog as he battles it out with all the evil baddies in Sonic's world. Sega has brought all new character animations to the game and completely reworked the physics engine as well. Originally slated for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, it will now also be coming to Android Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 devices as well as iOS. The Tegra 3 version will include further graphical and performance enhancements.
In Sonic 4 Episode 2 there will be all new challenges to face and blast through as Sonic likes to do. Also being hinted is possibly Tails making an appearance in this episode as well. You can read that and more in the full press release below. Be sure to check out the preview announcement trailer above as well although it doesn't show any of the gameplay. Sonic 4 Episode 2 is slated for release sometime in 2012. Pretty awesome news to help bring in the New Year. Unfortunately we don't have much more information than this.
