Hidden Gem: Tiny Comet - A little comet gets separated from his family

A little over a week ago a new game landed on the Android Market by Catfishblues Games, developed of the rather popular Hyperlight game. This particular game is called Tiny Comet and has you playing as a little lost comet who got separated from his family when he got too close to the Earth's gravitational pull.

In order to get back to his family, your little comet needs to get back into open space where the Earth's gravitational pull won't be sucking him back towards Earth. You will start off flying through hills and mountains, collecting the Sun's energy along the way and as you progress through the game you will get closer and closer to open space and your family.

Tiny Comet Features:

- Universal App: runs in HD on high-res Android devices!
- Very easy to play, only tilt up and down controls.
- Physics-based environment demolition.
- High-quality cartoon style graphics, also with 3D elements.
- Several original musics and funny sound effects.
- 18 Levels split in 6 different worlds.
- 5 Special transformations of the comet.
- OpenFeint support, with leaderboards and 28 achievements!
- Facebook and Twitter integration.
- Install to SD card supported. (<1Mb on internal memory!)
- Powered by Unity3D.

This is a pretty interesting game as you will be collecting the Sun's energy to avoid fading away while avoiding various creatures and obstacles that will set you back and, eventually, you will lose all your energy and die out. The graphics are pretty slick as with most games developed by Unity3D. On top of all of this though the environment is destructible as well, giving you a bit more eye candy and enjoyment when you run into something.

The game might seem a bit short for some people as it only sports 18 levels which are divided up across 6 different worlds. That's only 3 per world although hopefully the developers will release more levels over time. Still even with the little amount of levels there are 28 achievements for you achievement hunters out there to collect.

Overall it is just a fun little game to play when you have some free time. Tiny Comet comes in two flavors, a free ad-supported full version with in-game purchases and a fullvpaid version with no ads or anything which is also on sale right now for $0.99 which is 50% off.

Thanks to Roger Lyons for the suggestion.
