It is Wednesday today, hump day if you will, and to start things off on a good footing it seems as though Team Meat, the developers behind the awesome platformer for XBLA called Super Meat Boy, are not hinting at a mobile version of the game and yes, it would be coming to Android.
In fact in a rare statement from any game designer, Tommy Refenes said that when it comes out for mobile, it will come out for both Android and iOS at the same time. He went on to say this little gem below back in March 2010:
"I have no intentions on doing anything for iPhone or iPad ever... I hate the platforms and I hate the stores," - Tommy Refenes
Granted that was back in 2010 and obviously things change but it looks like Refenes still loves Android more than iOS. When asked outright if there would be an Android version coming, Refenes also answered that question pretty bluntly as well:
"Yes. If it comes out, it'll come out for everything at the same time. I like Android more than I like iOS." - Tommy Refenes
For those of you unfamiliar with Super Meat Boy, it is an action platformer for the Xbox Live Arcade starring a red cube of meat. It also has the distinction of being awarded the Most Challenging Game in 2010 by IGN among other accolades. Your goal as Meat Boy is to save your girlfriend, Bandage Girl from Dr. Fetus. Twisted sounding isn't it? It is also very fun and very challenging.
No word just yet on when we will see this mobile version of Super Meat Boy arrive.
