Star Commander space themed shooter blasts onto Google Play

Posted by AndrewH in Game News on June 11, 2012

If you don't have enough top-down scrolling shooters to play then there is a new one you might want to try out from Tubi Games called Star Commander. This isn't a bullet hell type of shooter but it isn't just a simple easy shooter to blaze through either.

Star Commander sort of fits in between both categories of shooters. It's a bit harder than your typical shooter but it definitely isn't a bullet hell shmup either. It also happens to be quite the large size game in regards to content with over 90 missions to complete.

Star Commander Features:

- 7 different alien races with 100+ unique entities to fight with
- 90+ missions in 16 unlockable galaxies with 3 difficulty levels
- ability to change weapons and use active skills during the missions
- 3+ fully customizable starships with 120+ upgrades (including turrets and special modules)
- huge alien bosses
- continuously challenging survival mode with infinite stages

Once you finish the game, which might take you a little while to do, you can also see how long you can live in survival mode as well. While you only have three different ships to choose from to play as, you do have over 120 different upgrades at your disposal.

Interested in trying out a new shooter? Give Star Commander a whirl. You can grab the game off of the Google Play store as a free download which will allow you to try the game out to a certain point. At that time you will have the option to buy the full version to unlock everything. Also be sure to read the game's full description on the Google Play store as there are a few good game tips you might need.
