LeTang drops a couple of big RPGs onto Android called Apocalypse of Skyland I and King Pirate II

Posted by AndrewH in Game News on June 15, 2012

LeTang is one of those developers that happen to get overlooked by a lot of gamers. However, those who do know of LeTang know that they generally put out some great quality games and in the past 24 hours they have released a couple of big retro style JRPGs onto Google Play called Apocalypse of Skyland I and King Pirate II.

Since both games were released so close together, we are just going to cover both of them in this article. Let's get started shall we?

Apocalypse of Skyland I

Released yesterday onto Android, Apocalypse of Skyland I is a JPRG that features a top-down isometric viewpoint and some nice retro JRPG visuals. LeTang seems to have expanded a bit on what their JRPG titles feature as this new one has plenty of interesting game mechanics in it.

1.Weapon System - ways of attack vary based on the colors of the weapon
2.Combos Attack - combos attack can cause much severe damage
3.Weapon Functions - functions obtained by chance, more options
4.Activate Enchant - various enchant combinations with diverse functions
5.Challenge Stages - more challenge stages, more awards

As the story goes, the world is dominated by evil already so trying to prevent evil from taking over your fictional little world isn't the goal here. Instead your goal is to get rid of the evil that has awoken and, of course, saving the world in the process. This isn't a small game either. LeTang is boasting this game as having 70+ hours of gameplay along with multiple endings depending on the choices you make. There are even hidden side quests to find and a daily rewards system.

If you need a JRPG fix while waiting for Kemco's next game slated for release later this year, you might want to give Apocalypse of Skyland I a try. It is available to download for free off of the Google Play store as well as our Google Play synced catalog. Judging from the name we can expect a sequel at some point as well.

But wait... there's more!

King Pirate II

As you might be able to tell from the name, this is a sequel to the original King Pirate RPG by LeTang. Unlike Apocalypse of Skyland I, this is a side-scrolling RPG just like the original, complete with the same style of visuals and combat including combo attacks. LeTang has also expanded further with this sequel over the original by including some new game mechanics as well.

1.Combo System - combos attack can cause much severe damage
2.Combat Skills - more than 10 kinds of powerful skills
3.Challenge Stages - more challenge stages, more awards
4.Weapon System - weapons with different colors, means of attack vary accordingly
5.Weapons Functions - more functions obtained by chance, more options
6.Activate Enchant - various enchant combinations with diverse functions

While the list of new systems is similar to Apocalypse of SKyland I, they function slightly different in King Pirate II. This game is also more of an action-RPG instead of a tradition old school RPG with menu driven combat. There is also a new clothing and costume system, over 200 quests and six professions to choose from.

If action-RPGs are a little more your style then you might want to check out King Pirate II, especially if you enjoyed the first one. You can also download this game off of the Google Play store for free as well as through our Google Play synced catalog.
