Crescent Moon Games to begin invading Android with their upcoming release of Aralon: Sword and Shadow

Posted by AndrewH in Game News on June 29, 2012

If you have been following us on Twitter for any length of time, you have probably seen us on occasion harassing Crescent Moon Games about releasing their games onto the Android platform. Well we have some good news today as that will actually be finally happening and the first title to arrive will be Aralon: Sword and Shadow.

Crescent Moon Games has done pretty well over on iOS with their titles having quite the following. Soon Android users are going to be able to get in on the action and Aralon: Sword and Shadow is a great title to start claiming Android gamers with.

Aralon: Sword and Shadow is a fully 3D rendered massive RPG title that will have you exploring a massive world as one of the three playable races: Humans, Elves and Trolls. Once you have picked the race you want to play as, you can choose one of four classes to be and then you are off to begin your adventure. As far as large scale RPG titles go, this is up there as one of the top ones, especially if you include all the features that come with this game that you won't find in other titles of this nature.

Aralon: Sword and Shadow Features:

- Over 30 hours of gameplay
- Explore a massive world with different regions
- Customize your character’s appearance
- 4 Character Classes
- 3 Playable Races: Humans, Elves, and Trolls
- A primary quest and multiple, optional side-quests
- Hundreds of items to acquire and wield
- Comprehensive Inventory System
- Battle various enemies that use different fighting tactics
- Faction system, herb gathering, crafting potions and magical items, dual-wielding, lockpicking and more

If you are an RPG fan and the above features list doesn't have you salivating yet about getting your hands on Aralon maybe this next point will help make that happen. Aralon is an open world game so you are free to explore the lands as you wish, following the main quest lines while discovering new optional side quests to undertake.

The story behind Aralon is actually quite good as well. If you are interested in the back story, here is the dirty quick version of it. Aralon: Sword and Shadow takes place 300 years after the 'Dark Day' where the Emperor Thalos who, using magic to extend his life, eventually knew that it would all catch up to him and he would die. In order to prevent this, Thalos went out to seek a way to give himself immortality. In doing so he ended up almost wiping out Earth, shattering the once beautiful lands into nothing more than scarred up land.

Since that day only a few pockets of survivors managed to survive from three races. Now still trying to rebuild after that 'Dark Day', a new evil seems to be emerging and someone must step up to stop it and, in doing so, re-discover the legacy of the past.

So when can you get your hands on Aralon: Sword and Shadow? Well the game is slated for release on the Amazon AppStore next Friday July 6th, 2012 as long as everything is on time. Until then though, you can check out the trailer below of go lurking around the official website to learn more about Aralon. You will also be happy to know that Crescent Moon Games has other titles that are currently getting prepped for release onto Android including Siegecraft and Paper Monsters coming up next.
