Fruit Ninja becomes #1 paid game on Android

Fruit Ninja by Halfbrick was released barely 24 hours ago along with OpenFeint. Fruit Ninja has now broken into the sacred land of the #1 paid game on the Android market...already. How is that for fast? The number 1 spot has been long held, like very long, by Robo Defense but now with OpenFeint and Fruit Ninja that crown has been passed to Halfbrick.

Robo Defense has been the number 1 paid game for as long as I can remember. In fact I don't even remember what was number 1 before Robo Defense and I've been with Android since it was first available. This is amazing and yet another example that success can be had on the Android market. All iOS developers should see this and realize quality games are in high demand and releasing one will be successful if done properly.

Add in a little OpenFeint or any other similar service like Scoreloop and you have a winner but it's not always needed. You can be successful without the social aspect as long as your game is of high quality, it will success whether paid, free, freemium or ad supported.

Congratulations to Halfbrick for doing what no one else has been able to do in a very long time and so quickly too! You can pick up Fruit Ninja right now for only $0.99 for the next couple of days so I suggest if you are planning on getting it, you do so now before the price goes up. The times are a changing!
