A new full sized RPG is heading our way soon called Tales of Illyria. For those of you who think this name seems familiar, it is and that is because the developers also have Tales of Illyria on Steam's Greenlight program. However, if you don't know about this game, Tales of Illyria takes influences from games like Oregon Trail but layers on a lot more RPG elements.
Tales of Illyria will also be an episodic series so this upcoming release will be the first in a series of games. If you're a fan of Final Fantasy style games which use a party-based system, then you should feel right at home with this game as it to features the party-based system. In total there are six different empires that call Illryia home, each with their own problems and dangers.
Tales of Illyria Features:
- Over 5,000 unique sprites for full character customization - Passage of time & seasons - Cinematic Parallax travel - Epic story - Food & water, attrition of goods - Interacting characters - Diverse land with individually developed kingdoms - Event based Dungeon Master system - Real-time order based combat - Weapon and armor weaknesses - Alignment, Morale, Karma & Reputation systems
Since this takes influences from games like Oregon Trail, players will also be managing every aspect of their journey with their party including making sure you have supplies, handling sudden hazards that happen, repairs and possible enemy ambushes as well. There also happens to be plenty of features you don't find in many RPG titles for mobile, or other platforms for that matter, including things like Karma, Morale and Alignment systems, a Dungeon Master system (like the table top games) and so on.
If you're a fan of RPG titles then you'll want to keep an eye out for Tales of Illyria. As for when you will be able to download and play this game on Android, the developers have stated that it will be coming sometime next week, we just don't have a specific day as of yet.
