Infinity Blade by Epic made using Unreal Engine 3 preview - idea on how it will look on Android devices?

While iOS is enjoying some Unreal Engine 3 love, first with Epic Citadel and now the announcement of RPG game called Infinity Blade, the screenshots released give us a better look into what we can expect when we start seeing Android games made with Unreal Engine 3. Some already are being made such as Dungeon Defenders.

Trendy Entertainment is responsible for Dungeon Defenders coming to Android and what a smart move that is, answering the call for high caliber games on Android. While you will need a device with a Tegra 2 chip inside of it, Trendy Entertainment believe they may have a version available for non-Tegra Android devices as well as some point.

Inifinty Blade, developed by Chair Entertainment, is a shining example though of how gaming could, and should, evolve in the mobile world. There are a lot of high quality, unique games already out for Android and more are coming every day. The demand is there, the hardware is there. It is just a matter of developers taking up the call for games like this for Android.

Infinity Blade is an action RPG game which has some stellar graphics. I mean some serious eye candy and while everyone has seen the demo of Unreal Engine holding a steady 60fps on an iPhone, it looks like this game is pushing the limits of the iPhone hardware. If the iPhone call do this and still have a good playable game then Android can certainly do it, and probably better especially with new phones coming out with better hardware.

The gameplay, at least combat-wise, for Infinity Blade is through swipe gestures. Swipe your finger across the screen to hack and slash away at the enemy. The rest will probably a mixture of swipe gesturing and buttons to tap but that's strictly speculation at this point since any more details about the game are being kept behind closed doors. It does have a holiday release time given to the game and addition content will be released in the future, for free, including a multiplayer component.

So have a glance at the screenshots for the game (be patient, they are big) and keep in mind, even though nothing has been 'officially' stated, it is pretty much a given that Unreal Engine support is coming to Android in the near future. You can also catch a peek at the actual gameplay in a new Apple commercial, starts at roughly 17 seconds into it. We could be seeing games like this in the very soon.
