Rovio responds to our SheepRun question regarding the user interface

A few days back we posted about a game we found and tried out called SheepRun which seems to be a mix of physics and Lemmings style gameplay. Aside from the fact it was a pretty interested game (still in beta) the main thing that caught our eye was the user interface which looked ridiculously like Angry Birds' user interface, so we shot off an email to Rovio.

Our friends over at Rovio must have decided to check it out because after a few days we got a response to our question regarding the user interface in SheepRun and whether or not this was Rovio testing a new game under a different name for whatever particular reason. It wouldn't make sense for them to do so but you never know unless you ask, so we did.

Hi Andrew,
I have to be honest I've never heard of Sheep launcher so no it's not a Rovio game. Thanks for the heads up about it.
Cheers,
Matt
Rovio

I'm going to assume the 'launcher' in the response is the keyboard of the iPad used to type this response auto-correcting the title SheepRun. Either way that answers our question as to whether or not this is Rovio testing out another game under a different name. Now the question is, because the user interface is so similar to that of Angry Birds, will something be done about it?

Interestingly enough, the folks posting in the comments over at Reddit have also noticed that it features level design which is almost the same as  Home Sheep Home as well as music.

Check out our original post about SheepRun and feel free to leave your thoughts on the subject below.
