Angry Birds developer Rovio recently talked at the Virtual Goods Summit in London about future plans with their flagship game and something interesting came to light. While it is no surprise, and heavily reported on, that Angry Birds will be heading to consoles soon as well as a TV show and a movie, mention of a sequel came up.

According to Rovio CEO, Peter Vesterbacka, stated that it won't just be an Angry Birds 2 type of game but that it will be from the pig's point of view. That should make for an interesting storyline if nothing else, pig's justifying stealing the bird's eggs. Must be a recession there as well.

That's not all though, Peter Vesterbacka went on to mention that the original Angry Birds game will eventually have multiplayer in an old school worms style mode.

"Multiplayer is a priority, but we have not determined the best way for our players to experience it yet". - Rovio CEO Peter Vesterbacka.

Overall, Rovio's goals with the Angry Birds franchise is a pretty high one, to becoming bigger than Tetris. With these and other future plans in the works, that may actually become a reality. Stay tuned for our interview with Rovio in the very near future. All of this is slated to happen after Angry Birds comes out on consoles which will happen in the very near future.
