AGC Sponsorship Information

We just wrapped up the first ever Android Gaming Challenge which was not only dubbed the first of it's kind for the Android platform but some reports labeled it as the first of it's kind of mobile gaming in general! The response? Massive. With over 400+ initial participants and media coverage on just about every major Android website (fantastic Android community support) and some technology/mobile news sites, the first AGC was a great success.

With success comes the question: How can we make the second AGC even better? Being the first ever of it's kind we had no real format from previous tournaments to follow but everything went great and everyone had fun. The feedback was great as well and because of that feedback we have a few changes we will be putting in place for the second AGC event.

**Important: We are planning on AGC2 being available to both US residents and International competitors. If you are considering being a sponsor please keep this in mind, especially if you only ship to US Residents, we can work something out so you can still be apart of AGC2**

Sponsorship Changes:

In the second AGC, being a sponsor will now be designated by levels. Depending on what you offer as a sponsor of the second AGC you will be grouped into one of the four available rankings. This is a pretty standard method for other tournaments and conventions. The rankings will be Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Each will have certain requirements to be met in some combination, so depending on what you bring to the AGC2 you will be one of those rankings.

Bronze Level Sponsors:

  • At least 1 free game as a prize for all tournament winners. If you are not a game developer but an application developer and want to be a sponsor then just substitute the game for your app (or subscription to your app depending on your business model)
  • If you are not a developer but someone who makes other types of products for Android then 1 of your products, designated in some way as an AGC edition, to each winner of AGC2. These are things like T-shirts, watches, Android toys, gaming gear, things of that nature.

Silver Level Sponsors:

  • Multiple games or applications given as prizes to the tournament winners.
  • If you are not a developer but someone who makes other types of products for Android then 2 of your products, designated in some way as an AGC edition, to each winner of AGC2. These are things like T-shirts, watches, Android toys, gaming gear, things of that nature.

Gold Level Sponsors:

  • Multiple games of applications given as prizes to tournament winners. This could also include an offer to the winners to have free games or applications (or subscriptions to your applications) for life. An example of this would be Hyperbees sponsorship donation of free apps/games for life to the Top 3 winners.
  • If you are not a developer then multiple non-digital Android products given to the winners, designated in some way as an AGC Edition. An example of this would be AndroidSwag's sponsorship donation of 3 one-of-a-kind watches to the Top 3 winners.
  • An Android device whether a tablet or phone.
  • Prize money donated to give away to the winners. This would be any amount up to $500USD.

Platinum Level Sponsors (limited):

  • Multiple games of applications given as prizes to tournament winners. This could also include an offer to the winners to have free games or applications (or subscriptions to your applications) for life. An example of this would be Hyperbees sponsorship donation of free apps/games for life to the Top 3 winners.
  • If you are not a developer then multiple non-digital Android products given to the winners, designated in some way as an AGC Edition. An example of this would be AndroidSwag's sponsorship donation of 3 one-of-a-kind watches to the Top 3 winners.
  • 2 Android devices whether tablets or phones or a combination of both.
  • Large prize money donated to give away to the winners. This would be any amount over $500USD.

Diamond Level Sponsorship (Very Limited):

  • Contact me personally

If you are a sponsor and donate a large amount to AGC that exceeds the above ranking system, a special rank will be created for you in recognition of your support for the Android Gaming Challenge. For reference you can check out AGC1's prize list to check out the great prize packages the winners received! The above ranks for sponsors and the requirements (you don't have to meet all over them to be in a rank, its more of a guildeline) may change in the very near future as we fine tune them.

Game Developers: If you are a game developer and want your game to be considered for gameplay during the tournament you will need to make an AGC Edition of your game with it's own leaderboard and be the full version of the game or if it is in a survival mode for AGC, have all the features required to play properly in survival mode (or any mode we agree upon). Your game must also be available to tournament players for free (whether put on the Android market or given to us here at Droid Gamers to distribute to tournament players. Alternatively you could host it as a download off your site if you have one which is what Mini Golf'oid developer PeirroX did).

Media Coverage: If you own or write for any site (Android or otherwise) and report/cover AGC2 you will be listed as a media sponsor and your logo and link will be present as well.

Future AGC Event Plans: We plan to have a few AGC events each year with a big finale at the end of each year. We are currently working out the details for what exactly the finale will be but we are hoping to have it as a live event, broadcasting online. If you are interesting in being a part of this please contact me at 702records [at] gmail [dot] com to discuss further details.

To ensure some sort of cash prizes to winners and other random prizes for random tournament players (we may implement achievement prizes) we are considering a small sign-up fee to participate in AGC2 and future AGC events. This has yet to be finalized though but we thought you might like to know ahead of time. If we do decide to go this route we will give everyone a lot of notice ahead of time.

Contact Details: For any sponsorship questions, concerns or sign-ups as a sponsor, feel free to contact me anytime via email at 702records [at] gmail [dot] com or by using our New Tips form. AGC events from now on are going to be a lot bigger then the first one as they will include international players as well instead of just US residents which is why we are starting preparations now. If you plan to be a sponsor for an AGC event such as the upcoming AGC#2 then the earlier you sign-up the better as it will ensure your place.

*Please note: A small portion of any cash prize donations will be put towards covering the various costs associated with running AGC tournaments**
