Android Gaming Challenge (AGC#2) gaming tournament registration is now open!

Posted by AndrewH in AGC2 on May 27, 2011

Well we had to delay the sign-ups for AGC#2 a couple of days while we worked on getting the new site design completed and live but the delay is now over. We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for AGC#2! Start doing those finger stretches now, you don't want to pull a muscle.

AGC#2, unlike the first one, will be open to all regions of the world, not just the USA. You have to be at least 13 years old to compete in AGC#2 as well. Other than that, the rules will be the same as last year for the most part. The ladder will work a bit differently to ensure everyone has a proper match-up this time. There will be even more prizes, bigger prizes and a lot more people in AGC#2. The first one was a huge success and it was only for US residents. We've opened it up to the entire world for this one! AGC#1 was not only the first ever mobile gaming tournament for Android but some news outlets even said it was the first full mobile gaming tournament for any platform... ever!

As usual, games being played will not be announced until the just before the day they are going to be played to ensure everyone starts on a somewhat even playing field. The qualifying round will start (tentatively) June 13th, 2011 which is a few days after E3 ends and most people who are in school should be out by then. If you are curious about last years rules and prizes, you can check them out here. We will be posting the official full rules shortly but as we said, they are pretty much the same as last years with a few little changes due to AGC#2 being open to everyone worldwide.

As we get closer to the qualifying start date, we will release more information about the prizes and other secret things we have in store for AGC#2. Until then, what are you waiting for? Go register now!

If you are a game developer and want to be involved in AGC#2 or a company looking to hop on board as a sponsor, please contact me directly at andrew.huff [at] droidgamers [dot] com. Additional sponsorship information can be found on the sponsorship information page. There are only a few spots left.

Official AGC#2 Registration: Sign-up here! Registration is now closed
