One of the more awesome Android phones at CES 2011 was the Optimus 2X from LG who came out strong this year at the show. This is LG's first dual-core Android phone sporting a Tegra 2 chip inside and playing around with it, you can certainly see/feel the difference a Tager 2 makes in your phone.

This will probably be one of the top phones to consider getting if you are into Android gaming but don't want the hassle of a tablet to carry around.

LG Optimus 2X Specs:

  • Android 2.2 (It will receive the Android 2.3 update)
  • 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor by nVidia
  • 8MP Camera with flash with 1.3MP camera on the front
  • 1080p Video recording and playback
  • HDMI/microUSB/3.5 mm headset jack
  • MicroSD slot
  • 1500 mAh battery
  • 4" Capacitive touch screen running at 480x800 resolution
  • Bluetooth/WiFi

We got to play with the LG Optimus 2X for awhile at their booth, flipping through the OS and generally checking everything out. Afterwards, during our scheduled booth walkthrough, we got to see the gaming side of things in action both on the device itself as well as being streamed in HD onto a nice LG TV.

The quality of the graphics and the gaming speed was great and there was absolutely no lag at all in any rendering. The device is easy to hold onto and you aren't really worried about dropping it or anything while you are playing games regardless if you are streaming them or on the go and playing.

This is really a great device and LG really came out strong at CES 2011. It would be safe to say that LG's offerings at CES 2011 were enough to rival Motorola's showing.
