Huawei has unveiled two new Android phones today called the Ascend P1 and Ascend P1 S, one of which is labeled as the world's thinnest smartphone, at least for today. Considering this is CES we are sure there will be others touting their new devices under the same label of being the thinnest.

Whether it is the thinnest or not, the Ascend P1 S is a meaty little device sporting Android 4.0 and a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortex A-9 chipset in it with a SGX 540 GPU. It measures in at 6.48mm which is pretty damn thin. It will also sport a 4.3" Super AMOLED screen running at 960x540 resolution. As for a battery, it will come with an 1800mAh unit inside.

The second Android device is actually pretty thin as well measuring in at 7.96mm thin, sports an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP HD front-facing camera and a 1670mAh battery. Not a bad second unit to unveil today as a follow-up to the Ascend P1 S. The Ascend P1 will also come with Android 4.0.

Both devices are slated for released starting in April 2012 and will be available in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, Australia, Middle East, and China. Full press release below for your reading pleasure.
