For those of you who haven't pre-ordered an Asus Transformer Prime it may have been a good thing to have waiting as Asus has unveiled a new design for the Tegra 3 quad-core tablet, sporting a higher resolution (1920x1200) over the original 1280x800.
Also along with the redesign is a new chassis as well as a 2.0MP front-facing camera instead of the original 1.3MP camera. The chassis upgrade is the major improvement though as it helps boost the signal strength of two features people have been complaining about which are WiFi and GPS.
Other than that though the specs are the same as the original quad-core Tegra 3 Transformer Prime, this one just comes with actual functioning GPS and better WiFi with an improved camera and higher resolution. One other thing to consider as well is that while the original shipped with Honeycomb, and will be getting an Android 4.0 update shortly, this new TF700T model will ship with Android 4.0 already on it.
The new Asus Transformer Prime will be released sometime in Q2 2012 and will have a bit of a price increase as well with the 32GB model being around $599 and 64GB model being around $699. You won't, however, need to buy a new keyboard dock if you already have one.
