So far with every conference that has happened since the Xperia Play got released has seem Sony Ericsson, along the their Xperia Play, at those conferences showcasing upcoming titles that will be destined for the Xperia Play in the future. GamesCom 2011 is no exception to that rule.

In total Sony Ericsson will be showcasing 27 games on the Xperia Play during GamesCom 2011 which is happening right now. While about half of those games are new and unreleased yet, the other half are already out and available to play right now. The games that are already out are there to showcase the controls of the Xperia Play and how developers can update their games to support those controls. The other half is there to show us some of the upcoming titles for the Xperia Play.

When the unreleased titles actually get released, they will probably enjoy the same exclusive one month period on the Xperia Play like past releases have before they are available for all other Android devices. The current list of games being shown at GamesCom 2011 are:

  • Dead Space, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit and FIFA12 by EA
  • Reckless Getaway, Reckless Racing 2 and Tanks by Polarbit
  • Let's Golf 3 by Gameloft
  • Townsmen 6, Guns & Glory WW2 and Clouds and Sheep by HandyGame
  • They Need To Be Fed by YoYo Games
  • Lame Castle by Be-Rad Entertainment
  • Hyperlight by Catfishblues Games
  • Diversion and Crazy Snowboard by Ezone PTY LTD
  • Gibs & Gore Micronytes
  • Protoxide and Battle Boats 3D by Herocraft
  • EVAC HD and Radient HD by Hexage
  • PewPew 2 by Jean-Francois Geyelin
  • Stellar Escape by Orange Agenda
  • Jumpy, INC and Meganoid by Orange Pixel
  • Death Worm by PlayCreek LLC
  • No Gravity by Real Tech VR
  • Crusade of Destiny by Divide Arts
  • Desert Winds by Southend Interactive

Still an impressive list of titles that are being shown off at GamesCom and it's good to see lots of indie developers on that list and not just major development studios.
