Another quad-core Android device has decided to show up today, this time coming from LG. Currently we know of two quad-core devices in the works, one of which is from Fujitsu which we played with at CES 2012, and the second rumored to be from HTC. Now we have a third which is coming from LG called the X3.

The LG X3, as it is currently names, will also be a true HD phone like the Nitro or Spectrum, running at 1280x720 resolution on a 4.7" screen. The chipset inside will bea Tegra 3 quad-core chipset from nVidia and the outside will play host to an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. This new quad-core device should also come right out of the box with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

Other specs floating around include 16GB of storage, a 2000mAh battery, a 21Mbps HSPA radio (with the possibility of LTE versions in certain areas), physical capacitive and not touchscreen buttons, and also a fabled NFC transceiver. So far it the LG X3 sounds like a beastly little phone.

If you want to nab one of these though you will have to wait a bit as the release for the LG X3 is slated for sometime in late Spring to early Summer. No word yet on what carrier(s) will get the device although I'm hoping for T-Mobile. We could see this unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month.
