It seems as though we should start calling every Monday in the Android community "Device Monday" or at least just for today. We just got a tip on Twitter from our friend Junde regarding the upcoming Meizu M9 and M9II phones, slated for release in China. Why are we reporting about phones in China? Android has no borders!

China has seen a slew of nice Android phones being released lately and Meizu is right there with some of the other major companies. While the M8 model is more of an iPhone looking device, the new M9 models take that form factor and shove some great hardware into it.

Meizu M9

Meizu M9 Specs:

  • Android 2.2 (with modification. Basically a UI that looks similar to the iPhone and Sense meshed together)
  • 1 Ghz Cortex A8-based Samsung S5PC110
  • Sharp 3.54inch, 960×640 pixel resolution, 16 million colors
  • Graphic chipset: build-in PowerVR SGX 540
  • Bluetooth / WiFi (WAPI) / GPS / TV-out (via mini USB)
  • MicroSD slot
  • 10-points multi-touch screen
  • 5MP camera

Pretty decent hardware for the Meizu M9 and the pricing is pretty good as well. It is based of the amount of internal storage you want to have so the 8GB version will set you back around $370 while the 16GB version is $399. The M9 is slated for a Christmas time release in China and also comes in White. I know some people are going to scoff at the 3.54" screen size (does the resolution make up for it?) but wait till you check out the rumored M9II specs!

Meizue M9II Specs (so far):

  • 4″ display, 1280×854 or 1280×800 pixel resolution
  • Samsung A9 dual-core mobile CPU
  • 1GB RAM and 1GB ROM
  • 16GB internal storage
  • Android 2.2 or 2.3

Meizu M9II

Bigger screen size, heftier resolution, dual-core processor and much more memory and storage makes this phone, which is rumored to be in development right now, a prime choice for android fans in China who want a solid, good Android phone at a decent price. All you Android gamers out there in China will want to consider this phone.

No word on a slated release date or price range for the Meizu M9II.
