Two more ways to follow DroidGamers: Google Currents and our own app!

One thing a lot of you, our readers, have been asking for is an official app for the site. Actually you've been asking as far back as last year. Well we are pleased to announce that we have just released the beta version of our app onto the Android Market. At the same time we have also been published on Google Currents!

For those of you who get the app you can expect to find two different layouts that you can pick to have your DroidGamers news displayed in. One is the standard list format while the other is a nice, more visual grid pattern. It also comes with a slew of settings you can use to customize it to your tastes including different fonts, languages, colors, image sizes, notifications, update times and more. Actually there is a ridiculous amount of settings to play with, in a good way of course.

There is also a handy toolbar at the bottom to sift through articles in order, share them on Facebook and Twitter and a few other options. If you want to see a article that has more media (such as video) in it you can just press the Web button and open up our site right in the app itself. The application also comes with a nice little scrollable widget too.

Since this is a beta version we are releasing it for free (ad supported) but there will be a paid version available soon if you want the app without ads. Both version will be fully featured though meaning the free version will have all the bells and whistles that the paid one has. Also, lastly we will be updating the app to play our podcast which we are finally starting in January 2012!

For those of you who don't want the app but want to be able to read our article even while offline you can now subscribe to us on Google Currents. We had our Currents publication ready pretty much the day Google released Currents. We have now been officially published in the listing of publications inside the Currents app under the Entertainment section. You can also hit up this link to subscribe to our Google Currents publication.

We still have a few design tweaks to add to it but for the most part the major layout is done. Enjoy!
