Acer Iconia dual-core Android tablet up for pre-orders on Best Buy. Excellent pricing involved.

If you are in the market for a new Android tablet and what one of those nifty dual-core Honeycomb tablets but don't have $800 (XOOM) to drop on one, or even $530 on contract (G-Slate), you'll be pleased to know that Acer is releasing theirs for a mere $449.99 and is on Best Buy right now for those wanting to pre-order one.

We got some hands-on time with the Acer Iconia dual-core tablet during CES 2011 which at the time was being called the Acer prototype tablet. This is actually a pretty solid Android tablet which feels pretty good while holding it. Even better are the hardware specs that come with it.

Specs:

• Tegra 2 dual-core chip
• 1GB DDR RAM
• 16GB HDD
• 10.1" screen size running at 1280x800 resolution
• 2MP front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera
• All the usual ports
• Honeycomb (Android 3.0)
• WiFi

If you're looking for an affordable dual-core Android tablet to do some gaming one, along with all the other great stuff you can do with dual-core tablets, then you'll want to consider the Acer Iconia if for no other reason than the price. Our experience with it at CES was nothing but positive and that's when it was still a 'prototype'. If you pre-order it, they will be shipped out starting April 24th.
