So as you may have noticed, I took the weekend off thinking this would be an ideal time to slip a couple days off and spend time with my family hoping it would be a slow news weekend. In reality it was a busy weekend not just for Android news but Android gaming news as well. So here is a quick rundown of gaming news over the weekend.
We pretty much have a sports game for Android for each type of sport right now from basketball to soccer, pool to football but no hockey. Well that just changed as Hockey Nations 2010, by Distinctive Wireless Inc, just landed on the Android market. This is a 3D hockey game with stellar graphics and game play which they ported over to Android from the iPhone.
While on the topic of shooter style games, another one landed on the market today called Gravity Fights, developed by Fadosoft. While not the usual scrolling shooter type game, you move through tunnels shooting enemies and flicking power switches which eventually opens a door for your to pass through. The graphics are pretty good in this title as well.
I've been meaning to write about this game for about a week now and just with all the recent news it's slipped into the cracks. However admits the massive amount of game icons on my nexus one, it's stood by waiting patiently. Sky Force, developed by Infinite Dreams, is a 3D-ish arcade style scrolling shooter with lots to offer.
When it comes to Android and platform games there isn't a lot to choose from that are good. In fact there isn't a lot to choose from at all. Some notable ones include Grave Digger and the ever popular Replica Island. NTT Studios LTD who developed the game Up In The Arrr! just released AndroBoy 3000, a 3D-ish isometric platform game.
With the recent news surfacing about Android 2.2 (Froyo) already being tested live, thanks to some statistics posted by Taylor over at Android and Me, the question for all us game fans that arises is pretty obvious: What does this mean for gaming with Android devices? This is a good question especially since the recent update to the Android NDK.
Our multi-game giveaway week has come to a close finally and it was a huge success! A lot of people won prizes and while this giveaway is over, we are already gearing up to announce our new one coming up shortly! As I mentioned the other day, any unclaimed prizes from this will be tossed back into the pot and we are going to blitz them out tomorrow!

Well now you can get some hands-on treatment with Zenonia thanks to Gamevil releasing a free version onto the Android market.
Since I'm currently on the topic of strategy games after my last post about Pocket Empires, I decided to post about Space STG, developed by Grzegorz Mackiewicz, which is also a real-time strategy game of the non-MMO variety. In this game you control fleets of space fighters, control planetary defense and economies while conquering other enemy planets.
We have mentioned previously that Nvidia was gearing up to release their Android Nougat update for the company's Shield and Shield K1 tablets. Well for those of you who own either of those tablets, this Android OS update is finally making its way to everyone. There is a lot that
While everyone with an original Shield Android TV console is waiting to get the Android 7.0 (a.k.a Nougat), which has plenty of confusion as to exactly when that will be arriving (around a week from now), the Shield Android TV isn't the only Shield device getting the OS update soon.
NVIDIA's New Shield TV release may be getting all of the spotlight right now, and that won't be stopping with the software either. The new Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade is currently being sent out to their new consoles, and includes virtually all of the features that the New Shield TV
