Welcome to the tenth installment of our Under The Radar column where we showcase a few noteworthy games that we were not able to publish as full articles on the site. Ultimately, with this, smaller developers get vital exposure for their games and you get to have more games to play on your plate. If you know of more quality games released recently that have not got the attention they deserve, let us know by leaving a comment!
Cut the Rope: Experiments has gotten a new update released for it that comes with a lot of bugs but not the kind of bugs you're thinking of. These particular bugs are of the Ant variety because this update is called Ant Hill. These little ants aren't here to hinder you, or maybe they are?
Hothead Games has just pushed the first major update to their multiplayer combat game called Rivals at War. While this is the first major update for the game, all it brings is a good selection of translated languages to Rivals at War, we really are not focusing on that. In fact we aren't going to focus on the update at all.
If you've been following us for awhile now then you have probably seen us report on games being made by a company called Asobimo. One game we are currently waiting on for an English release, which should be coming soon actually, is Avabel Online. However, another game they have which just entered a new round of beta testing in Japan is Frontier Gunner.
We are sure you remember our story the other day about legendary guitarist Slash of Guns N' Roses fame who also happens to be a huge Angry Birds fan was possibly getting a bird fashioned after him. Well that is sort of what happened. Actually Slash made a new theme song for Angry Birds Space after Rovio found out that the guitarist is a big fan of the franchise and asked him to get involved.
Glu Mobile has brought a second game to Google Play today and this time it is the Samurai vs Zombies Defense 2 game we talked about yesterday afternoon. For those that missed yesterday's article, this is the sequel to the original game which is also available on Google Play. While keeping to the core mechanics of the original, this sequel brings with it two additional warriors: the Kunoichi Assassin and Armored Ronin.
Book of Heroes is a relatively interesting game, but one that is hamstrung by a typical grind that continues to perplex me the more I see titles that offer the same. No goal in any game is interesting enough for me to spend time going over the same activity for hours at a time, and no piece of loot is worth feeling like I’m clocking in for an actual job instead of enjoying a game. In this particular case, the Book of Heroes grind is what I refer to as “soft”, or an easy-going grind that doesn’t feel as bad as it really is. Even with the easier grind the repeated content begins to take away from the fun of the game, and there are some really cool features.
Back in January of this year Glu Mobile announced that a sequel to Gun Bros would be heading our way at some point in the relatively near future. It seems as though today is that future as Gun Bros 2 has made its way quietly onto the Google Play store and this time the game comes with multiplayer right at launch instead of in a future update like with the original game.
DeNA has sent us word that they will be hosting two major raid boss events in two of their games this week and it will be all about the dragons... big dragons. Both Hellfire and D.O.T. Defender of Texel will be getting a raid boss event where players will have to deal with dragons in one way or another. However, with great risk comes great rewards.

Last week Nvidia pushed out their OTA update for the Tegra K1 Shield tablet that featured plenty of bug fixes and optimizations. Today Nvidia has pushed out another update but this time it is for their Nvidia Shield Android TV unit. Sorry, no LTE version of their Shield Tablet update
