Phonejoy has been making controllers for mobile gamers for a bit now and while their first product saw a little success their second controller is looking like it may pull in a lot more sales. This is partly because the controller will actually slide together when not in use, making it more compact and easier to carry along with you. The other reason could be because it fits right to your phone with the buttons and controls located on the sides of your device instead of how a standard controller is set up.
Gameloft’s next installment into their Modern Combat franchise which was slated for release near the end of this year has been postponed until sometime in the earlier part of 2014. Modern Combat 5 was announced and shown off during E3 2013 this year in a demo version but apparently development on the game is taking a bit longer than had been expected.
Back in December of last year we were following the Kickstarter campaign for Pier Solar HD, a remake of the massive retro style RPG game for Sega Mega Drive / Genesis that was released in 2010 and soon to be coming to the Dreamcast as well. Their Kickstarter campaign was so successful that Android and Ouya versions were confirmed to be in the works as well.
A couple of weeks ago we talked about the fact that Supercell had changed their stance on bringing Clash of Clans to Android after long stating that they wouldn’t be doing that. Another week is coming to a close and that means it is once again time to round-up all the Android games on sale right now over on Google Play. This week’s list is actually a little small but every game in it is a good one. Sometimes it’s about quality not quantity right?
Not too long ago we announced that Havok, who up until then had only an engine for making PC/console games, had released a new mobile focused game development engine called Project Anarchy. This engine, as you’re probably guessing, is designed for developers of 3D mobile games and allows for cross-platform development, similar to Unity3D.
One game we’ve talked about heading our way in the near future is Nimblebit’s next release called Pocket Trains. Slated for release yesterday it did in fact arrive right on time so now you can dive into the pixel filled world of trains, pixel people and managing all of it.
While we have had a couple of spin-offs from the main Cut The Rope game that technically could be considered a sequel due to the very different themes each one has, there hasn’t officially been a Cut The Rope 2 as of yet. That, however, is about to change this holiday season as Zeptolabs confirms that a sequel is on the way.
Tin Man Games has been around for five years officially as they have begun celebrating their 5th year anniversary. To celebrate this rather momentous occasion, they have taken a break from releasing Fighting Fantasy games and have instead released the newest addition to their Gamebook Adventure franchise called Curse of the Assassin.
We’ve been covering two Shadowrun games that have been successfully funded through Kickstarter, both with plans to bring their games to Android. One is an online MMORPG style game called Shadowrun Online while the other game had an insanely successful Kickstarter campaign, called Shadowrun Returns.
