Guillermo del Toro has has a new movie coming out in July called Pacific Rim and Reliance Games have been commissioned to created a movie spin-off game that will be coming to mobile phones and tablets this Summer as well. It is a safe bet to say this will be coming to Android as well as iOS even though it is labeled right now as ‘mobile devices’. In fact we are pretty confident it will be coming to Android, mainly because Qualcomm is promoting the game as well.
Square Enix has a couple more games slated to be arriving onto Android soon which they will also be showing off at E3 2013 as well. The next installment into the Deus Ex franchise will be making its way to Android, officially titled Deus Ex: The Fall, while Square Enix has another game called Mini Ninjas which has already arrived onto Google Play but are showing it off at E3 2013 anyways.
Zynga is having some troubles these days when it comes to making money and unfortunately some of their recent acquisitions are going to be suffering for this with the first one being OMGPop. Zynga has closed down OMGPop and terminated the employment of pretty much everyone from the company already. The ones who are still there have a choice to train Zynga employees on what to do over the next two month or leave now. If they leave, their severance packages will, unfortunately, be slashed as well.
ChronoBlade is an Action-RPG that has been slated for release for browsers for some time now but the developers of the game nWay have announced that it will also be arriving for the Android-powered console Ouya as well. In fact the game is slated to arrive in a demo version for Ouya as early as this Friday which is tomorrow.
E3 2013 is just around the corner and mobile gaming will be there in full force as usual like it has been the past couple of years. Gameloft’s newest addition to the Modern Combat franchise, which we knew was already on the way thanks to that leak earlier this year, is Modern Combat 5 and while the official sub-name for the game isn’t released yet, it is rumored to be Modern Combat 5: Last War.
While Nvidia’s handheld gaming system called Shield is an Android-powered device, it is geared towards gaming both with Android games as well as PC games. However the device, which runs Android 4.2, can be used as a normal Android device as well for pretty much everything else as well.
Ouya looks to be getting some love from the famous blue hedgehog thanks to Sega announcing plans to bring a few Sonic The Hedgehog titles over to the Android-powered console soon. Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1, Episode 2 and Sonic CD will all be making their way to Ouya shortly.
Everyone has been waiting patiently for the 0.7.0 update for Minecraft: Pocket Edition to arrive for Android, having had to wait on the iOS version to get approved by Apple before we are graced with the update. It’s been about a month of delays due to bugs and whatnot as well but the wait is over and the 0.7.0 update is now available for download.
A rather popular board game called Ticket To Ride has made its way to Android today and comes complete with online gameplay so you can play against other people from around the world. For those of you unfamiliar with this game, Ticket To Ride is sort of like Monopoly but themed around railroads instead of properties.
Madfinger Games has officially announced the sequel to Dead Trigger, appropriately named Dead Trigger 2, and have gone ahead and released a few screenshots as well as a trailer showing their new game off. We’ve already had the pleasure of getting a hands-on with an early build of the game back during CES 2013 and it was already looking real good back then.
