For whatever reason Rovio has gotten into the giving mood whether it is because the Chinese New Year is upon us or because they just felt like it. Whatever the case may be, Rovio has slashed the prices on a majority of their paid titles both on Google Play as well as on the Amazon AppStore just in case you want the HD version of each game.

Rovio is getting in on the holiday action this season by putting up all the HD versions of all their games on sale for $0.99. If you own the free versions of any of their games and happen to want to get rid of the ads, while getting a little bit of a boost in the visual department, then now is a good time to take advantage of the sale.
When you mention Rovio, you think of slingshots and birds and pigs. But that’s changed. After four successive Angry Birds-themed games, Rovio’s latest release doesn’t involve slinging birds into pigs or anything of that sort. Instead, it’s a remake of a popular iOS game (Casey’s Contraptions) that they had bought over not too long ago.
Well it seems Rovio is right on time with their reported release date for Amazing Alex, their newest physics-based puzzle game, being July 12. Although it was reported that it would be a release with a plethora of promotion like that of Angry Birds Space, it actually was a fairly quite release.
Rovio’s newest IP and first completely unrelated to Angry Birds game is nearing it’s release time and Rovio has finally announced the exact date for Amazing Alex’s release onto Android and iOS. Rovio has uploaded a nice little video along with the news to show, very briefly, what the game will look like.
We have been keeping an eye on Rovio over the last month or so in the hopes that they would release more details about their upcoming non-Angry Birds themed game Amazing Alex. Originally a decently popular iOS game called Casey’s Contraptions, Rovio recently acquire the IP and are remaking / re-branding the game before releasing it onto both Android and iOS.
Rovio keeps popping up in the news on a regular basis even when it isn’t revolving around their Angry Birds franchise. Apparently Rovio has more than just Amazing Alex in the works for release this year which further solidifies Rovio’s attempt at expanding their catalog of games past Angry Birds.
By now you are probably aware that Rovio has a new franchise up their sleeve based on the Casey’s Contraptions iOS game which they just confirmed yesterday that they bought the IP. Well we now have a few more details about what this new game will be and for starters it will be called Amazing Alex.
