Spellfall is a puzzle RPG to be released on Android by Backflip Studios. For those not familiar with the relatively recent hybrid of match-three with RPGs or action games, picture the following: You’re playing a Final Fantasy, or some other RPG with a spell casting mechanic, and you decide to cast a spell in battle. Only instead of selecting a spell from a list and paying for it out of your available MP, Candy Crush pops up on the screen and you attempt to match three or more tiles a row.

Interesting news today that happens to be in regards to another game development studio getting purchased. While this isn’t a complete buy-out of Backflip Studios, the company has had a majority stake purchase by the massive toy company Hasbro. We haven’t had to report on Lodsys and some of their idiotic lawsuits that they were trying to pull off almost two years ago. Ninjump by Backflip Studios, the same company that brought you Paper Toss, has been ported over from the iPhone version and is now available on the Android Market. Backflip Studios has been a major iOS developer for some time now with some extremely popular games. In fact one of them is already on the Android market called Paper Toss. This is just like Toss It! so if you’ve played one then you’ve played both although I believe they developed the game first. However due to the great response they have had, they will be porting over their other popular games!
