Beamdog are the developers behind the two Enhanced Editions of Baldur’s Gate I and II, and now the company has announced a third title that will be coming our way soon. Officially called Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear, this particular game will take place between when the first two titles happened. In other words it will be a new story after the death of Sarevok but before the rise of Irenicus.

Beamdog has so far been responsible for bringing Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition to Android, which if you followed all of that game’s development then you know all about the red tape that just about killed the game’s release. Well yesterday Beamdog quietly released another classic RPG onto Android and this time it is Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition.
You may remember us talking about the Android version of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and its development being put on hold due to contractual conflicts that had arisen. The iOS version was also pulled from the App Store for the same reason. It seems as though an agreement has been reached, something we weren’t sure was actually going to happen, and the iOS version is back on the App Store which could indicate that the Android version is also back in development.
It seems like Beamdog can’t get a break these past few months when it comes to Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition not only for iOS but for the Android version that has yet to be released. While the Android version has suffered from a few delays due to bugs having been found, the iOS version has now been pulled from the App Store due to contractual issues.
One game we are eager to get our hands on is the upcoming Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition from Beamdog. For those of you who have missed our previous coverage regarding this game, we’ve been following its progress since it was first announced being under development. Now the game looks to be in the final stages of development and testing and should be arriving fairly soon.
The remake of the classic RPG Baldur’s Gate, which we’ve reported on since it hit up Kickstarter for funding, will be arriving a little sooner than expected, although it is still arriving later than the initial release date. Originally slated for a September 18th, 2012 release date, the developers eventually had to delay the game’s launch until November 30th, 2012. Now, Beamdog’s head man Trent Oster has confirmed that the game will actually be arriving on November 28th, 2012, two days early.
Back in March we talked abut Beamdog who were considering bringing their upcoming Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition to Android aside from all the other platforms the game will be coming to. Well it seems that it is now officially coming to Android later this year although when exactly that will be has yet to be announced.
The classic RPG series may be making the jump to Android soon. Currently slated for release on the iPad, Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition brings the classic RPG game to mobile but enhanced with new visuals and a new user interface through the use of the Infinity Engine.
