Google has gone through all of the submissions for the Google Play Indie Games Contest that was announced back in November 2016, and have finally picked out the Top 20 finalists who will move on to the next round of eliminations. Out of the 20 games selected, only 7 have yet to be released, which gives us a sort of heads up about a few upcoming games that must be titles to keep an eye out for.

This would inevitably end up boosting download of course. Unfortunately for a lot of developers, this was strictly for developers in the North America. This left out a lot of developers located outside of North America.

Jetpack Jo is a new Jetpack game coming to Android soon. In Jetpack Jo, players control the eponymous character and guide him through levels full of hazards, in a horizontal fashion, while being careful trip avoid all the obstacles can be avoided. Jetpack Jo also includes global leaderboards, and levels that as global as well.
Released by Exordium Games, Zero Reflex is an Evader style game. Players will control a small geometric shape that that orbits a giant eyeball. Based on the trailer, a variety of threats need to be avoided, either emanating from the eyeball itself, or from the periphery of the area, as players navigate clockwise or counterclockwise in their orbital path.
Bandai Namco has teamed up with DeviantArt for a pretty interesting competition which revolves around art, or more specifically art for Bandai Namco’s game Outcast Odyssey. For those of you not familiar with this game, Outcast Odyssey is a Dungeon Crawling, RPG, and Card Collecting hybrid game that is currently available on Android.

Here at DroidGamers we are always looking to do different and unique things with Android gaming. We’ve ran our own competitions already and there have been a few instances in the past where other companies have ran their own as well including Major League Gaming. However, if Android gaming were to actually break into the eSports scene on a more serious level, it would be interesting to see what games people would like to be able to compete in.
Last week we reported on GungHo Entertainment teaming up with Warner Bros to have what we considered to be one of the weirdest cross-over events in mobile gaming. The event brought Batman: Arkham Origins character to GungHo’s widely popular Puzzle & Dragons game for players to battle and collect. Now another event has been announced which is almost as weird as this one but this time it’ll be GungHo Entertainment teaming up with Rovio.
