Today SEGA has pushed out a little update for their Crazy Taxi: City Rush game which adds a particularly cool car to the game. This update is sort of a team effort with SEGA joining forces with Mattel to bring the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker care to Crazy Taxi: City Rush.
SEGA and fast growing e-hail app Hailo have teamed up to bring a sort of real-life Crazy Taxi experience to New York Comic Con which will be happening October 9th and 10th. This rather creative experience was thought up to help celebrate the addition of Hulk Hogan to the recently released mobile game Crazy Taxi City Rush.
If you ever caught it in the arcades or on the Dreamcast the name Crazy Taxi should hold at least a somewhat special place in your heart. As a game built on adrenaline, a pretty solid and appropriate soundtrack, and an absolutely ridiculous implementation of physics, Crazy Taxi was probably the title I spent the most hours with on my Dreamcast in the day. Its classic arcade sensibilities pitting you against the clock and unpredictable challenges made it easy to get sucked in by, but very difficult to really master in any consistent way.
Crazy Taxi the game has been around for some time. It made its debut in 1999 as an arcade game. It began appearing on consoles, starting first, on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000. After that, due to its popularity, it was ported to PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Gamecube. The ports didn’t stop there; they kept going. Eventually the game would appear on PC and Xbox. Most recently, the game made its way to mobile devices, both IOS and Android. Sega has retooled the game completely, bringing Crazy Taxi: City Rush to a whole new generation of gamers. Those nostalgic gamers who fell in love with the original game might find the new direction a little constricting. You won’t have to wait long to try it out because it will be arriving in the Play Store very soon.
It has been quite awhile since we last talked about Sega’s popular Dreamcast game Crazy Taxi and the fact it was going to be coming to Android in the near future. Unfortunately ‘the near future’ became quite a few months as the original story was posted back in October of last year. However, Sega has quietly released the game finally onto Google Play today.
One game which we are sure many people play on their favorite Dreamcast emulator for their Android device is Crazy Taxi, the racing game where you haul ass around each city, collecting fare and making money for a job well done, or at least a job done fast. Well Sega has revealed that this classic Dreamcast title will be making it’s way to Android soon.
If you told me a decade back that I’ll be enjoying some recently released Sonic Adventures and Crazy Taxi on a handheld, Sony’s no less, I would have scoffed at the thought and blamed it on the case of some Y2K hysteria. Nevertheless, these tittles have made its way on the often over looked OnLive game streaming app.
