It looks like Fruit Ninja will be heading in the same direction as the Angry Bird franchise has recently done by getting it’s own movie. The Angry Birds movie has actually done well for itself since its theatrical release last week, and so this has strengthened the resolve to make a movie about Fruit Ninja.

Halfbrick’s fruit murdering game Fruit Ninja has been out for five years. It is actually hard to imagine this game having been out for five years but it has since today is the game’s 5th birthday. To celebrate, Halfbrick has released the game’s biggest update ever. In truth, it is a double milestone event as the game has also crossed a billion downloads.

Just two weeks after having released a massive update to the venerable mobile hit, Fruit Ninja, Halfbrick Studios is at it again with yet another surprise up its sleeve: a Ghostbusters crossover! Right on time for Halloween and the Ghostbusters 30th anniversary celebration, Halfbrick has launched a themed update that adds all new weapons, animations and locations based on the beloved cinematic franchise.
Halfbrick’s first big hit, Fruit Ninja, has been out for quite a long time now. Even to this day it is still a pretty fun game but that doesn’t mean Halfbrick hasn’t been working on improving it. In fact the company has pushed out a pretty massive update that not only adds a lot of new content, but also adds plenty of new optimizations.

While the news of this game finally being released onto Android will make a lot of people happy at first, the news that Halfbrick has exclusively launched the Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots game on the Amazon App Store for Android may make the news a little less good for those of you outside of the US or do not have access to the Amazon App Store.
Today sees another wondrous title released from Glu Mobile called Cut The Cheese: Fudge Dragon. Essentially a Fruit Ninja clone, at least in terms of game mechanics, this new game by Glu will appeal to that lowest common denominator in your sense of humor.
So on Monday (Nov. 28th, 2011) the Amazon free game was supposed to be the debut of Halfbrick’s Fruit Ninja: Puss in Boots game. While everyone waited for it to show up, there was no sign up it and instead another game, Dabble HD, sat in it’s place. So where is it? Have no fear, it’s still coming.
