If you were a regular DroidGamers reader a few years back, you might have seen a mention about a game called Gunhouse coming exclusively to PS Mobile-enabled phones. Well, this past November, Gunhouse quietly slipped under the radar and hit the Google Play store for all Android devices. Everyone can now enjoy Necrosoft Games’ delightfully quirky take on tower defense and puzzle games.

Earlier this year we had the opportunity to talk with Hibernum, the the team of talented individuals behind the soon to be released game Saber’s Edge. Fast forward to a few months later, and Saber’s Edge has been released worldwide for Android and iOS devices. A fascinating world has been created for this unique puzzle/action/strategy game. We were fortunate enough to talk with Hibernum and the game’s producer, Marc-Andre Larose about the creation of this intriguing amalgamation of game genres.

[Update: Game Released] Jewel Road is an artistic puzzle game from Crescent Moon. It will arrive this week for Android.
Crescent Moon Games has been quite busy lately with a stream of releases for iOS and Android. Android gamers will be treated to a new match 3 puzzle game this week called Jewel Road. The art work in the game is pixel-based, but it is lavishly rendered. The game is a collaboration between Crescent Moon Games and Loony Rocket Studio, a micro studio based in Vienna, Austria.

Languinis Match and Spell is a hybrid match-three/spelling game; Candy Crush meets the tabletop game Boggle, and the two had a kid.
A quick glimpse of the Play store shows that there is no shortage of match 3 games or RPGs. This has been the case since the Play store launched, making it no surprise that the two genres were eventually mashed together.
As we mentioned yesterday, PopCap Games is finally releasing a couple of titles on Android. While Plants vs Zombies is slated for ‘later this month’, Chuzzle was set to launch today and indeed it has. It will be available exclusively on the Amazon App Store until May 30th. After that it will be available on the Android Market.
Having been used to the birds being the good guys thanks to Angry Birds, Bird Zapper has them being the bad guys. They have hijacked all the power lines and apparently as a squirrel, this is very irritating to you. This is a match-3 style game with dynamic gameplay with swipe-style controls instead of the usual tapping ones.
